Story Teller...

Being a good story teller could really come in handy tonight! My camera has been broken for weeks (so I haven't posted much), it was showing a "lens error" message and it wouldn't work...but tonight, I decided I'd try my tried and true "whack it" fix-it-method (I've found it's surprisingly effective with electronic devices) to see if would help anything, and sure enough...

Ryon played some baseball with the boys in our backyard tonight, while I ran around and snapped pictures of what's going on in the yard. The 26 chicks we ordered are doing well...except the ones that were constricted by the common king snake (that's a story, one that sure took me by surprise!), our fruit trees and garden are growing like crazy, the grape vines are beautiful, we're eating red raspberries from a new vine, and some of the holly hocks have come in pink this year instead of white (a fun surprise!). We're eating lots of tomatoes & PEACHES (one tree is loaded) and have enough to share, which I love, and our little basil plants are growing enough for our daily tomato sandwiches (which Ryon has been coming home from work to eat)! Our corn looks like it's going to do well, and we have 3 little bean plants, I'm not sure about their future, yet. I'm hoping the garlic will go to seed before the heat of the summer kills it. Gardening into the day is now pretty miserable! If I don't get it done in the garden by 10am, I'm probably not going to do it... I'm still trying to decide if that means I'm lazy or smart... The kids get out of school before Memorial Day for the summer! I LOVE summer break! I can hardly wait! We're trying swim team and water polo again, and guard start for the first time. We need a life guard in the family.

We have lots of wild sunflowers this year (the birds love them...but no love birds, yet, I can't wait...they are beautiful!).

I'm not much of a story teller tonight, which is too bad, there are lots of stories to be told, maybe another day.
