Birthday Wishes!

The Saturday before his birthday he had on a bright yellow pair of fleece gloves when I got into the car. All the boys had on their football uniforms, shoulder pads and all, but Andrew had on the finishing touches, bright yellow snow gloves. "You can't wear those in the game!" "Yes I can, they will help me play better." "No you can't!" Came the brothers' replies. After about 15 minutes of a very confident Andrew claiming that snow gloves would most definitely be what he needed in today's game, I mentioned he should take them off. "O.K." He said, and left them on the seat when he got out to play, what turned out to be the best game of his season so far! He played the entire first 1/2 of the game, special teams, offensive line, d-line, EVERYTHING. A few games back he made an amazing tackle...it earned him a silver brick from his coach..."the BIG HIT AWARD". Andrew loves to hit! So, in Saturday's game he was only on the side lines for 3 plays of the entire game, and I think that was to get some water.

Besides football, Andrew loves running, being held, being read to and reading, getting perfect grades at school, being the leader in his classroom, playing with his friends, and being funny. He loves to eat red bell peppers whole, and mandarin oranges are his absolute favorite (he'd eat 12 cans at a time, if I let him), but he rarely eats anything called "dinner", which is probably really healthy for him. He's already planning to be baptized next year when he turns 8 years old. That was the first thing he talked about on his birthday morning. In one year I'll be 8, and will be baptized.

Andrew wanted waffles with blackberry compote for his birthday breakfast. We put 7 candles on his waffle and later on his round, chocolate birthday cake. Nathaniel hand picked and made a scene with Lego guys on the the top of the cake. It was really cool looking!

Andrew is handsome, spiritual, kind, funny, intelligent, and athletic. If I weren't his mother, I'd want to be. He's fun to be around! And I want to wish him a happy birthday! I love you Andrew!
