We picked "Jimmy" up from the airport on Saturday night. He's a 6' tall Chinese boy from Shanghai. He is kind, generous, and funny. As we pulled out of the garage to go to his new high school on Monday morning, he saw Ryon finishing up some yard work and said, "I think our dad is VERY handsome." I had to validate that, "I think our dad is very handsome, too!" Jimmy made us all bust up laughing when he said his teachers at school can't tell when he sleeps during class because his eyes don't look any different whether they are opened or closed. He's very humble and very kind, we're happy to have him as a son for this school year.
We love and miss our exchange students we had last year, but are excited to get to know Jimmy and Kiko this year. In some really great ways Jimmy reminds us of Bea, and it makes us miss her even more.
I just realized this morning that I will have 10 children at our home every morning for a week, starting tomorrow. The great part is they are great kids, and it's really no problem...it just looks like a lot of people!
We spent 4 hours on Sunday watching General Conference. If you know me, I don't like to spend 4 hours watching t.v. in one day, but General Conference is different! My brother in law shared this link http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/on-faith/post/why-do-mormons-hold-general-conference/2011/09/26/gIQApq5P0K_blog.html which I thought was really a great commentary on why we watch conference. I personally watch because when I do I am inspired to be a better person, to forgive more, do better, and love more fully. I struggle to stay awake, so I normally find an easy task to perform while I listen. This year I washed out my refrigerator and washed my kitchen counters. It helps me listen and stay awake. :) Maybe a little unorthodox, but still helpful to me:). If you wanted to learn more about Jesus Christ and His modern day followers. These are also great web sites: http://mormon.org/ & http://lds.org/?lang=eng.

Ryon is super handsome! How nice that your "son" is so honest and uninhibited.
I love to do some mundane tasks, like folding laundry, when I am watching conference too! It is better than falling asleep. What a great weekend! I am so excited for you all and your exchange students!
