Yesterday was opening day for our Little League Baseball players. Nathaniel played the first game of the day as the starting catcher on his Dodgers team. He's old enough now that he didn't look at me once during the whole game. Then, Andrew & Zach & Ry played later. Ry's on a different team and field than the other boys, so I tried to split my time between the games. Ry is still young enough that he looks for me between and some times during every play. Andrew & Zach won playing with their dad as coach (14-0 Zach hit a home run)and Ry Guy won his game with a lot of great plays and an awesome 2nd base hit, that could have been a home run, except this is machine pitch and convincing other runners to advance through the bases is, well, it's pretty difficult at times. It was a LONG fun day at the ballpark. I didn't actually go when the Ryon and the boys took off.
I stayed home and did some much needed yard work. The boys had wanted to leave at 8am with Ryon so they woke up at 6:30am to help me with house/yard work for 1 1/2 hours before they left. I was so happy to see them excited to wake up at 6:30am to clean on a weekend morning! And they were excited to escape to the ball fields, so, I couldn't ask them to help more throughout the day! It was a win win here at home, too.
