Politics! Love that Palin!!!

So, I do, correction, I did, have a sign for Cecil Ash in my front yard, I asked the actual politician to put it there, and he did, surprise. So, I went on Tuesday and voted for him, and Joe Arpio, who I personally think rocks. But I haven't been in prison, in pink underwear, in a tent, paying for my own crummy meals, maybe his coolness would fade if I was there for a few minutes in 118' weather. Anyway, none of my friends have been doing cartwheels over McCain, and even though I'm planning to vote for him (no offense to everyone else who seems to be voting for Obama - we're still friends:)) I haven't been extremely wowed by McCain. Until the last 2 minutes of the Republican National Convention, which I enjoyed immensely. To quote McCain, "If you find faults with our country, make it a better one, if you're disappointed with the mistakes of our government, join it's ranks and work to correct them. Enlist in our arm forces (thanks dad & Kirk), become a teacher (you are awesome mom!), enter the ministry (thanks all of you who serve), run for public office, feed a hungry child (I've got that covered), teach an illiterate adult to read (go mom), comfort the afflicted (mom & dad again), defend the rights of the oppressed, our country will be the better and you will be the happier because nothing brings greater happiness in life than to serve a cause greater than yourself."

And I could tell he really believes that, he believes he is serving a cause bigger than himself. And he is and will make huge sacrifices to be the President. So, basically he is saying, whoever wins doesn't matter so much but get off our couches and doing something to improve our community and our country--I guess another way it's been said is "don't ask what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." And for a running mate Sarah Palin is a beautiful woman, and she sure wowed me! Just like a woman able to say very cutting things and stay as beautiful as ever. I wouldn't say they've done what they need to do to win. They need some great economic plan, but I think they can do it! They have my vote. I'm guessing those of you who hate McCain never made it this far:).

I agree with you this much: I have not been planning on voting for McCain. That doesn't mean I am voting for Obama, but I just was not impressed with McCain at all. But then Sarah Palin came along... Yes, I am wowed by her and her great work. It's not just her nice name.
